Yesterday I read where cameos are the newest trend in vintage. I have always thought a cameo is one of the prettiest pieces of jewelry.
Cameos were often a stone or shell that is cut into some kind of design. It is debated when the first cameo was made. Some say Greece others say Rome. Eventually though, the art of cameo carving settled in Italy.

The article in the paper talked about stores selling cameo jewelry targeted towards the younger generation. I use to have fun wearing my grandmothers. She had a large collection of cameos.
